Twenty plus year old Company with a national presence in the Workforce Development area. The Company provided workforce services through a number of government contracts in which people of all ages with barriers to employment were provided counseling, training and job placement to match their skills with the needs of employers.
Financial Advisory Engagement
- Business Assessment
We were engaged as the Company’s exclusive financial advisor in connection with exploring strategic alternatives for the Company, including but not limited to the proposed sale of all or a portion of the stock or assets of the Company. All of the Company’s shares were owned by the founder who did not have an heir apparent.
- Corporate Finance
We prepared an analysis for the shareholder outlining a number of options for his consideration. Because of the unique service niche that his business occupied, we recommended that the Company look to a national company as a potential strategic buyer since the acquisition would allow for the potential opportunity to transfer attractive contracts to the buyer.
- Bottom Line
After a review of potential private and public companies that would be strategically aligned to our client, we, along with the management team, made presentations to several prospects. This resulted in two offers, of which the client selected a public company with a national footprint that provided the business with the opportunity to maintain the Company’s business model and staff, and offered the shareholder a viable exit strategy.
